Heracles Almelo played an important role in the Football Memories project that took place on Tuesday, June 9, at the Goffertstadion in Nijmegen. Seniors from De Graafschap and Heracles Almelo came together to share memories of football from the past. This initiative, organized by GezondRijk Nijmegen, focuses on the elderly, with special attention to people with (early-stage) dementia. The gathering provided a safe and friendly environment where participants could share their love for football. During the event, over a hundred seniors participated in activities such as a World Cup quiz and a catered lunch. The aim was to create a sense of community and enjoyment. Participants from different clubs quickly connected through their shared passion for the game. Project leader Jort Klomphaar was pleased with the exchange between the clubs and highlighted the power of football to bring people together. This event demonstrates how important such initiatives are for the well-being of seniors and the connection between different communities.
