Heracles Almelo has strengthened its squad with 20-year-old defender Mario Borac, who joins from Stuttgarter Kickers on a three-year deal. Borac has Croatian roots, but was born in Nagold, Germany. He played almost his entire youth career with German Stuttgarter Kickers, who are active in the fourth tier of German football. In the last two seasons, he played almost 60 games. Borac played mainly as a left-back, but can also play as a left central defender. Technical director Ernest Faber is happy with Borac's arrival. "Mario is a player with a true winners mentality and a strong work ethic", he tells the club channels. "In addition, he has exactly the qualities we are looking for in a modern defender: strong in duels, comfortable in build-up and versatile. With these characteristics, he fits well into our playing style. We see a lot of potential in Mario." Borac also speaks about his move to Heracles. "I see myself as an ambitious, disciplined and team-oriented player", he describes himself as a footballer. "It's important for me to work hard every day, always maximize my potential and fully commit to the team."
